Bareboards Presents: 'White Rabbit Red Rabbit '
"White Rabbit Red Rabbit" by Nassim Soleimanpour premiered in 2011 and has since become a globally acclaimed theatrical experiment, translated into over 25 languages and performed more than 4,000 times worldwide. The play was written while Soleimanpour was forbidden from leaving Iran, reflecting themes of obedience, choice, freedom of expression, and the fragile contract between performer and audience. It is famous for having no rehearsals, no director, and no set. Each performance features a different actor who receives a sealed envelope containing the script and reads it cold, discovering the play at the same time as the audience.
