Queer Book Club: Strange Girls by Sarvat Hasin (SOLD OUT)
About
For its launch, Ramona's Queer Book Club is reading Strange Girls, a feverish, razor-sharp novel from FLINTA writer Sarvat Hasin.Set across London and the charged interiors of memory, it follows two estranged friends, Ava and Aliya, who reunite after a decade apart for one fraught weekend. It's a chance to circle the question that has lingered between them ever since: what were we to each other, really?
Moving between their intense university years and the lives they’ve since built, Hasin captures the feral, all-consuming nature of early friendship, the kind that blurs into desire, rivalry and authorship of one another’s selves. It’s a novel alive to longing and contradiction, asking how we carry the people who once defined us, and what happens when the stories we shared no longer hold.
Join us for an evening of conversation, community and a glass of something good in the bookshop. This is a space centring queer readers and FLINTA+ voices - whether you’re new or a regular, you’re warmly invited.
