Moving Anxious kids & Teens from Anxiety to Resilience
Anxiety is one of the most common challenges facing young people today. Whether it's the stomach aches before school, the avoidance of social situations, or the pressure and performance anxiety that builds through the senior years, anxiety has a way of quietly shrinking a young person's world.
It also has a habit of showing up at exactly the wrong moment. When a leadership position opens up. When there's an opportunity to try something new. When saying yes could make all the difference, but anxiety says no first.
The good news- there is so much parents can do to help.
This term, The Geelong College is thrilled to host a special event- Moving Anxious Kids & Teens from Anxiety to Resilience with anxiety expert Dr Jodi Richardson. This event is open to all parents and carers of children and teens within the College Community. You'll come away with a clearer understanding of what's really going on beneath the surface, why some well-meaning responses can accidentally keep anxiety going, and practical strategies you can use at home straight away.
Whether your child is in the Junior, Middle or Senior School, this evening is designed to leave you feeling more confident, more informed and better equipped to support them to face challenges, back themselves and say yes to the opportunities that matter most.
