Faujdar Ghashiram is a Hindi musical theatre production by Khelaiya Productions.Khelaiya Productions returns with an innovative theatrical concept, presenting Faujdar Ghashiram in the vibrant and engaging Nautanki style, a traditional musical theatre form from North India.
This powerful adaptation of renowned playwright Vijay Tendulkar’s Ghashiram Kotwal is a tribute to North Indian culture, celebrating its rich traditions, regional customs, music, and way of life.
Set in a fictional North Indian town, the story is a sharp satire on social hierarchy, the abuse of power, and the eternal struggle between the regulator and the regulated to retain control. Through evocative music, folk influences, and the colourful Nautanki performance style, the production captures the spirit and soul of North India, creating a truly immersive theatrical experience.
Performed by talented Melbourne artists and directed by Harsiddhi Mody, the production brings together music, movement, and storytelling in a unique celebration of live theatre.
