About
In Act One, Matilda Wormwood is a highly intelligent young girl neglected by her shallow family. At school, her kind teacher Miss Honey recognises her talents, but the oppressive headmistress Miss Trunchbull rules with fear. Matilda uses cleverness to resist both her family and Trunchbull, while telling a story with hidden links to Miss Honey’s past.In Act Two, Matilda uncovers her telekinetic powers and uses them to challenge Trunchbull’s cruelty. The truth about Miss Honey’s tragic childhood emerges, leading to Trunchbull’s departure and Miss Honey becoming headmistress. Matilda’s neglectful parents leave after exposure of wrongdoing, and Miss Honey adopts Matilda, giving her a loving home.
