Parliamentary Seminar for Electorate Office Staff

The House of Assembly's Parliamentary Seminar is an opportunity for Electoral staff to gain a general understanding of the practice, procedures and workings of the House along with that of the Parliament and its services.Topics covered include parliamentary procedure and a typical sitting week, Standing Orders and debates, publications, papers and resources, Bills and Motions, the passage of a Bill, security and visitor management, parliamentary committees, community education, and Hansard.
Staff of the House and other Joint Services divisions will present selected topics and will be able to answer any questions you may have.
There will also be an optional tour of Parliament House offered at the conclusion of the seminar.
The next seminar will be held on Tuesday 30 June 2026 in Parliament House (Balcony Room), 9.30am to approx. 12.00pm, with a morning tea break.
Please note that seat bookings are for online booking processes only – attendees can sit at any seat on the day.
