SYNOPSIS
A paranormal investigators dream location… but not only that, the chilling past of Albany’s Quarantine Station at Camp Quaranup was instrumental for Western Australia during a time when its people faced a growing fear and an unseen threat arriving from beyond its shores.
Long before modern medicine and air travel, this isolated headland served as the colony’s first line of defence against deadly diseases arriving by sea. Thousands of immigrants, sailors, soldiers, and travellers passed through these grounds under strict quarantine, many carrying fears of smallpox, typhoid, cholera, influenza… and even the bubonic plague. Hidden away from the township and surrounded by the cold waters of Princess Royal Harbour, the station became a place of uncertainty, isolation, suffering, and survival. Today, many believe the echoes of its past still remain.
For years, Camp Quaranup has attracted paranormal enthusiasts who claim it is one of the most haunted places in Western Australia.
