Wednesday Afternoons in The Farm
About
A relaxed, hands-on weekly program at The Cape Community Farm in Cape Paterson. Each Wednesday afternoon, a small group meets at the farm to grow food, build practical skills, and learn alongside others.
What you'll learn across the sessions:
• Seed sowing and propagation
• Composting and soil health
• Pruning, harvesting and pest management
• Irrigation and water-wise gardening
• Companion planting and seasonal food production
Each session follows the same rhythm: a short teaching demo, hands-on farm activities, and a group reflection on what was learned. The focus each week is shaped by what's happening on the farm and the goals of the group.
Who it's for: Beginners are warmly welcomed, and experienced gardeners will find plenty of depth to extend their skills.
Your facilitator: Adrian James — qualified horticulturalist with 15 years of local growing experience.
"I've just joined the weekly program to learn, to share and meet new people. I'm learning so much — give it a try." — Sue, Growing Ground Participant
