We are thrilled to present Meet the Author: Alex Sawyer for the launch of his debut coming-of-age novel Rat Daniels. Alex is an Adelaide author and winner of the Richell Prize, and he will be in conversation with another local talent, Alex Cothren on Tuesday July 7th at 630pm in the cosy and beautiful Matilda Bookshop. Jimmy Quinn is only a boy when he meets Rat Daniels down by the creek. Until that moment, Rat wasn't called Rat, and Jimmy didn't have a best friend. Alex Sawyer is an author living in the Adelaide foothills, Kaurna Yerta. His debut novel, Rat Daniels, won the 2023 Richell Prize for Emerging Writers. Alex is a clinical psychologist by trade.

Tickets are $15 (& include a glass of SC Pannell wine), or you can purchase Ticket + Book $35 (Rat Daniels is usually $35rrp on its own). If you choose the Ticket + Book option, your book will be ready for collection on the night. Copies of Rat Daniels will also be available on the night.
