A practical walkthrough of the three key financial statements, being the income statement, balance sheet and statement of cash flows. Concepts will be explained and using a real Australian medical company, participants will be provide with simple tips as to how to read, analyse and interpret each of these three statements. The webinar will also explain key accounting concepts frequently used by accountants, including working capital, solvency, depreciation and amortisation and accrual accounting. The webinar will also go through the typical questions that should be asking when reviewing each of the three financial statements.This webinar will be of interest to medical administrators and also anyone who runs their own medical practice.

Key learnings include:
an overview of the three key financial statements, namely the balance sheet, income statement and statement of cash flows;
understand the difference between current and non-current assets, current and non-current liabilities and equity (including the meaning behind retained profits);
understand the concept of working capital and how it is a key indicator in determining solvency;
understand the concept of depreciation and amortisation;
understand the components of the income statement, including income, expenses and net profit both before and after income tax;
understand the concept of accrual accounting;
understand the importance of the statement of cash flows, including the three types of cash flows within this statement, being cash flows from operating activities, investing activities and financing activities;
using a real Australian medical company, participants will be walked through a simple step-by-step methodology on how to read, analyse and interpret the three financial statements;
the typical questions that directors should be asking their CFO or accountant when reviewing the three
key financial statements.
