Shelley Dark is coming to Toowoomba in June to hold author talks about her book "Son of Hydra".The main event is an author talk hosted by the BookBar Book Club at the Laulaki restaurent on Thursday the 4th June - numbers are limited for this event, so get in quick.

For those who would like to hear Shelley discuss her book, but cannot make the above event, please join Shelley Dark for a talk about her latest book "Son of Hydra" at The Lighthouse gallery on Friday 5th June at 2pm, hosted by The Booktree.
Dark's riveting historical novel based on the true story of Ghikas Voulgaris, a privileged young Greek shipping heir who becomes Australia's first Greek convict. It is a sweeping tale of love, loss, and redemption that explores themes of identity and the resilience required to survive.
Come and hear Shelley talk about her second book "Son of Hydra" and the completely rediculous path that took her from a family mystery to chasing a 19th century Greek pirate across the world - to his transportation to Australia in 1829 - and eventually writing an award winning novel about him.
No need to read the book before this event, but if you'd like to read it beforehand, copies can be purchased at The Book Tree (456 Ruthven St, Toowoomba). Both books, "Hydra in WInter" and "Son of Hydra" can also be purchased at the event!
