Every Student Counts: Inclusive Maths Education Practices
About
Every student deserves to see themselves as a maths person and to feel like they belong in the maths classroom, however, for many learners, barriers to participation and belonging in mathematics exist. This webinar explores what the research says about inclusive STEM learning environments, and how teachers and school leaders can take meaningful steps toward creating more equitable learning environments. We begin with an overview of the 8 Principles for Inclusive STEM Education from the Get into STEM: Diversity in STEM toolkit, as a tool for reflecting on our classrooms, schools, and practice. We showcase strategies and resources that can support teachers and school teams to create inclusive and responsive maths classrooms for all students.
Whether you're just beginning to think about inclusion in your maths program or looking to build on what you are already doing, this webinar will leave you with new evidence-based strategies and practical resources that you can take back to your schools.
Who Should Attend: Classroom teachers, curriculum coordinators, and school leaders with an interest in equity, inclusion, and improving outcomes for all maths learners.
