Only recently discovering that a late cousin, Richard Abrahamowicz, born in Austria in 1923, Richard escaped to the UK after the Anschluss, only to be interned. He was transported to Australia on’ HMT Dunera,’ interned in Hay NSW before eventually joining Churchill's secret ‘X’ Troop , the Jewish commando unit in the British army. His story is one of surprising courage and determination.Date
