First 72 Hours Workshop
About
Do you know how to prepare for an emergency? The First 72 Hours Program is a fun, practical workshop that helps you get ready for emergencies—while looking after yourself, your family, friends, and neighbours.
With increasing pressure on Australia’s emergency services during major events, communities are playing a bigger role than ever. This workshop will guide you through simple, realistic ways to prepare for the first 72 hours, when help may be delayed and you may need to rely on your own resources.
You’ll learn how to stay safe, supported, and connected, and why having an Emergency Plan at home can make all the difference. It’s all about building confidence, sharing knowledge, and making sure everyone in your community is ready to look out for one another.
Participants will receive a First 72 Hours flyer, an Emergency Plan worksheet, and a waterproof PVC Emergency Kit Dry Bag.
The dry bag features a handy emergency checklist printed on the outside, making it easy to stay organised.
Together, these resources support participants to build their preparedness and feel ready for any emergency.
