This year’s Federal Rally Overlander commences upon your arrival in Devonport, on Monday 8 March 2027 at 7am.

The maximum number that can be accommodated on this Overlander tour is 50 people, so early bookings will be essential to avoid missing out.

It is proposed that people joining the Overlander part of the Federal Rally are advised to travel on the Spirit of Tasmania, on Sunday 7 March (evening crossing). However, if you wish to travel at an earlier time, please ensure you are at our Monday morning breakfast stop no later than 8am.

It is important to note that the Overlander package covers breakfast and lunch on Day 1, and lunch and dinner on Day 2. You will need to book your own accommodation at each venue at your own expense, namely at Peppers Silo in Launceston, and at Eastcoaster Tasmania Resort in Orford.

ITINERARY

Monday 8 March
Breakfast at Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm Café, followed by a leisurely drive to Alpenrose Bistro, located near the River Tamar. After lunch it is a short drive to our accommodation at Peppers Silo, Launceston. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner is at your own expense.

Peppers Silo has an excellent restaurant (Grain of the Silos Restaurant), but you will need to book early for your dining reservation.

Tuesday 9 March
Breakfast at leisure, followed by a scenic drive to Devil’s Corner Cellar Door in Apslawn, where we have arranged a wine tasting and light lunch.  After lunch we will proceed to our night’s accommodation at Eastcoaster Tasmania resort, where we will enjoy a group dinner together that evening.

Wednesday 10 March
Option 1: Travel onwards to Wrest Point Hotel/Hobart.
OR
Option 2: Stay an additional night at Eastcoaster Tasmania resort, and spend the day exploring the beautiful east coast of Tasmania.  All meals will be at your own expense.  Due to heavy bookings, there is limited accommodation for the second night, so once again you will need to book early.  Thursday 11 March depart for Wrest Point Hotel/Hobart.

A detailed itinerary, including maps, will be provided to all registrants for the Overlander well prior to departure.
