Jane Austen: Set to Music
About
Jane Austen wrote several poems. In this light-hearted concert we present some contemporary musical settings of her poems, including the Australian premiere of a new song cycle by UK composer Chris Gardner that reimagines a selection of Austen’s verse in a variety of musical idioms – even sultry Latin rhythms and the blues - and Gillian Dooley's 'Six Miniatures', settings of Austen's juvenilia verses. This is an event not to be missed!(Note: This is a repeat of the sold-out Vivente Music event at Urrbrae House on 27 April this year).
