2026 Workshop Exploring Monochrome Painting with Maxine Wade
BAS 1 Day Workshop - Exploring Monochrome Painting with Maxine Wade
Using a provided subject, I will guide you as to how to explore and effectively represent the subject using only one colour.
This method is invaluable in teaching you about the importance of the ratio of water to pigment and the subtleties which may be obtained from this method.
With monochrome, it is possible to depict mood and atmosphere, fog and mist, or striking drama with high contrasts. Also, colour harmony is “built in”!
Practicing a wider value range than you perhaps normally use, will exemplify exactly how you can improve all of your watercolour paintings. We will still be employing wet into wet, glazing, drybrush, lifting off and other watercolour techniques.
The only difference is that you DO NOT HAVE TO MIX ANY COLOURS in this workshop!! EASY!
Some watercolour experience is required for this course.
Tuition fees
Members - $100
Visitors - $125
