2026 LMICS Annual Forum — What is Equity to You?
About
LMICS invites you to attend the 2026 LMICS Annual Forum: What is Equity to You?, to be held on Wednesday 26 August 2026.This year’s forum, From Awareness to Action: Reducing Inequity in Regional Cancer Care, will explore how inequity shows up in everyday cancer care across regional and rural settings — and what we as clinicians, services and system partners can do differently.
Our guiding question is: What can we do differently to reduce inequity in regional cancer care?
The forum will bring together regional perspectives on cultural safety for First Nations Peoples, geography and system design, CALD and refugee experiences, financial toxicity, survivorship and clinical practice. Through short presentations and an integrated panel discussion, participants will be invited to reflect on practical actions that can strengthen equitable, human-centred cancer care across the Loddon Mallee Region.
Meet our panel members for the LMICS Annual Forum:
Dr Sam Harris (Facilitator), LMICS Co-Clinical Director, Medical Oncologist at Bendigo Health, Clinical Lead for the Oncology Trials Unit, and the Bendigo Health representative for the Regional Trials Network – Victoria.
