2026-10 Introduction to weaving with Monique
Learn to weave with Monique Van Nieuwland. These classes will give you an introduction to the workings of the loom, preparing a warp, and weaving four shaft weave structures by producing a sampler. Guidance will then be given to develop an individual project using the techniques learned. Classes are relaxed and informal. Participants can hire a table loom from Canberra Spinners and Weavers to take home and weave independently in between sessions. You can use your own table loom if it is suitable.
Runs 4 Sundays 9:30am to 4pm: 30 Aug, 6 Sept, 13 Sept, 20 Sept
Looms can be hired from CSW for a period of 3 months @ $45/month, ($150 refundable deposit) or you can use your own table loom if it is suitable (check with tutors).
