Darebin to Ivanhoe Consultation Community Ride

Join this escorted tour for community consultation on the proposed Darebin to Ivanhoe link, part of the Hurstbridge Line Active Transport Masterplan.We'll ride the corridor and experience the proposed route. City of Banyule officers will be in attendance to engage with participants as we visit four key locations to discuss the existing conditions and potential interventions. to improve them for riders .
Ride support will be provided by qualified instructors from Bike It Better.

- Adults who are comfortable riding their bike on quieter roads. When navigating busier intersections and roads the group will dismount and walk. Participants over 13 are wecome if accompanied by an adult on the day.
- Suitable for all types of human-powered bicycles, including folding bikes and e-bikes
- Participants MUST live, work or study within Banyule City Council.
This ride is to facilitate engagement and consultation about the proposed Darebin to Ivanhoe link with City of Banyule officers. There will be discussion at four key locations about issues and possible interventions.
What should I bring?
- A roadworthy bicycle in good condition with working brakes, a bell and pumped up tyres. If you are unsure, please email bikeitbettercyclecoaching@gmail.com prior to booking.
- Approved helmet in good condition
- Suitable clothing for the conditions
Where do we meet?
Meet at the cnr Salisbury Avenue and Rockbears Grove, Ivanhoe Victoria 3079 for the start of our ride.
What is the start/finish time?
The ride and consultation will start promptly at 10:00am. Please don't be late. We will be moving away from the meeting point shortly afterwards.
Please arrive at least 10 minutes early.
The ride will finish at the corner of Sherwood Rd and Ashby Grove by 12pm.
What if the weather isn’t great?
In the event of heavy rain or very windy (>35km/hr) weather the ride will be postponed. You will be notified by SMS.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket?
You don't need to bring your ticket on the day. We will have a list of registered participants.
