Step into the warmth of winter with the Winter Solstice Express 2026 at the Mornington Tourist Railway on Saturday the 20th of June 2026.Arrive early at Moorooduc Station and soak up the magical winter atmosphere before the first 5pm departure. Gather around the glowing fire pits, enjoy delicious winter warmers and hot food fresh from the platform kiosk, toast marshmallows by the fire and enjoy live acoustic music from Lily Georgia
Once aboard, settle in for a one-hour return journey behind one of our heritage locomotives. Experience the sights, sounds and smells of traditional steam rail travel as smoke billows into the winter night and the warm glow of the carriages cuts through the darkness, creating a uniquely special midwinter experience.
Whether you are bringing family, friends or planning a Cosy winter evening out, the Winter Solstice Express is the perfect way to celebrate the longest night of the year.
