This beginner-friendly chair choreography workshop explores sensual movement, clean lines, and intentional musicality, using the chair as both a prop and a partner. You’ll learn how to create striking shapes, transitions, and moments of control while building confidence in grounded, expressive movement.We’ll work through foundational techniques including lines, levels, and fluidity, before learning a short combo that brings together sensuality, texture, and musical interpretation in a supportive and fun environment.
Perfect for dancers of all levels, this class is all about exploring style, confidence, and performance quality at your own pace.
What to wear/bring: Clothes you feel confident and comfortable moving in. Barefoot or heels optional.
About Nat:
Perth’s very own Fire Breathing Ballerina is finally launching her highly anticipated workshop series.
Named the 2024 Proud Awards Variety Performer of the Year and recently crowned MX Burlesque Perth, Nat is the embodiment of lines, poise and playful edge. She has toured Australia as Lassu’s “Pyra”, Club D’Amour’s “Allume”, and as the butane-fuelled baddie of Wonderfully Terrible Things. Drawing inspiration from the movement of Bob Fosse, the iconic production design of Crazy Horse Paris, and the theatrical tease of 1950s burlesque legend Blaze Starr, Nat Oakes delivers a signature style that is sultry, refined and undeniably captivating.
Beyond the stage, Nat is an established producer and creative force behind award-winning agency Lyons Production, as well as shows including Club D’Amour, Happy Endings and Tuck Shop.
Nat has curated a series of 8 workshops tailored for burlesque performers and dancers, covering technique, choreography and theory, delivered across 3 sessions.
