About

Integrated Treatment of Concussion & Persisting Symptoms: From acute to return to sport

Join us for a comprehensive, multidisciplinary workshop exploring contemporary concussion rehabilitation across the continuum of care, from acute management through to persisting symptoms and return to sport.

Delivered by an experienced team consisting of a neuropsychologist, neurophysiotherapist, and exercise physiologist, this workshop draws on more than 10 years of clinical experience treating concussion and persisting symptoms after concussion across both sport and non-sport settings.

This workshop is designed for clinicians seeking a practical, integrated, and biopsychosocial understanding of concussion rehabilitation. Rather than focusing solely on sport concussion, the course examines concussion more broadly, with an emphasis on multidisciplinary assessment, formulation, treatment planning, and recovery support.

About the presenters
Dr Harvey Jones is a Clinical Neuropsychologist and Clinical Psychologist with 10+ years experience treating concussion and persisting symptoms. Harvey has a specific interest in helping clients work through the biopsychosocial contribution to their symptoms, and is passionate about physio-informed psychology. He believes strongly in an integrated approach to concussion and persistent symptoms, harnessing the joint expertise of a multi disciplinary team. Harvey is also passionate about providing education and supervision to other psychologists and allied health clinicians, having run workshops and "how-to" sessions both nationally and internationally.

Laura is a Titled APA Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist with over 15 years of experience across private practice, hospital settings, and elite sports. Her expertise spans a wide range of injuries and rehabilitation needs, with a special interest in sports injuries and concussion management.  Laura has worked extensively with elite athletes for over a decade, including roles with AFL teams such as St Kilda Football Club and elite cricket programs. Laura and Adrian have been invited to the Pittsburgh Steelers NFL team to gain further experience in return to play protocols.

Adrian is a senior Exercise Physiologist at Epworth Healthcare. He has 18 years’ experience in neurological and orthopaedic trauma rehabilitation. Since 2016 Adrian has been the lead exercise physiologist in Epworth’s concussion clinic, completing exercise intolerance testing and heart rate variability testing. Adrian has a keen interest in return to sport post concussion and completes conditioning and testing for return to play. In September 2026, Adrian and Laura will travel to Pittsburgh USA to spend time with the Pittsburgh Steelers NFL team. Here they will gain experience with their concussion management and return to play programs.
