ARTIST BIO:
Born in Montreal, Canada into a musical family, Ricky's passion for creative expression through sound was nurtured from an early age by his musician parents. In 2001 he founded SoundTrip Studios, where he worked with internationally renowned artists including Edwin Bonilla, Johnny Polanco, Jimmy Bosch, Jesús “El Niño” Alejandro, Luisito Rosario, and Croma Latina (Italy), among many others. He is internationally respected for his authentic approach to old-school salsa production, DJing, and musical preservation.
Ricky’s signature sound combines the swing and sabor of 1970s salsa with modern production techniques — keeping the essence of classic Salsa Dura alive for new generations.
His acclaimed albums Salsa Como Debe Ser, Modestia Aparte, Alma de Rumbero, and Nos Curamos Con La Rumbashowcase his deep love for traditional salsa, descarga, and Afro-Caribbean rhythms. Ricky has also expanded into Bachata production, collaborating with world-renowned Latin artists across the international music scene.
Fresh from releasing new hit singles in 2026 including Si Te Dije Que No Te Extraño, Menti and Te Voy a Dar Candela, Ricky continues to keep authentic salsa alive on dance floors around the world.
