The Air Force Band presents Fanfare for a New Era—a concert celebrating transition, tradition, and the next chapter of musical excellence.Marking a change of leadership, this special performance warmly welcomes SQNLDR Phil Martin as the Band’s new Commanding Officer and recognises the artistic leadership of Musical Director FLGOFF Michael Potts. The afternoon also proudly welcomes back former Director of Music and reservist SQNLDR John Buckley for this significant occasion.
Opening with Jack Stamp’s triumphant Fanfare for a New Era, the program reflects both ceremony and celebration. Johan de Meij’s spirited At Kitty O’Sheas captures warmth and character, followed by Franco Cesarini’s exhilarating arrangement of Bulgarian Dances, bringing vibrant energy and colour to the stage. The concert concludes with Leonard Bernstein’s iconic Symphonic Dances from West Side Story, delivering drama, excitement, and timeless musical storytelling. A New Era honours the Air Force Band’s proud legacy while looking confidently.
