On Saturday, 11th July 2026, experience a captivating solo piano recital featuring outstanding young Australian pianist Elton Sun. 🎹Presented at Steinway Gallery Melbourne, Elton will perform a beautifully curated all-Chopin program on the magnificent Steinway & Sons Grand Piano. The recital will feature works selected from the repertoire requirements of the Chopin Pleyel International Piano Competition in France, taking place later this year in August.

Pianist Bio:
Tianyi (Elton) Sun was born in Shanghai and has been learning piano since he was 5 years old. Before leaving Asia he had already received prizes in piano competitions. Moving with his parents to Australia at the age of 7 he is currently a year 10 student at the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School where he participates in chamber music, takes part in the wonderful school choral program and has played in the orchestra. Elton has learnt the cello, played double bass and studies piano with Betty Vergara-Pink. He has also had lessons and performed in masterclasses with distinguished Australian performers and teachers. He is passionate about music and performing.
Elton is one of 28 candidates from around the world to be invited to participate in the First Chopin Pleyel International Piano Competition to be held at the George Sand estate in Nohant, France in August this year. The competition is particularly challenging and contains only piano works of Chopin.
