BPPS P&C Parent & Child Camp - Nov 27th to 29th
About
One of the signature events on the School Calendar is fast approaching – the much-loved Parent–Child Camp, open to students in Years 3 to 6. This “not to be missed” weekend consistently sells out, combining adventure, great memories for the kids, and a unique opportunity for parents to connect with their children and the school community in a relaxed outdoor setting. This year we’re excited to introduce a new venue — The Collaroy Centre — just 30 minutes from school. We’ve also expanded the program to two nights, with an even broader range of activities across both day and evening sessions.
Spots are limited and this event sells out each year — early booking is recommended.
WHEN: 27th November - 29th November 2026.
WHERE: The Collaroy Centre, 22 Homestead Ave, Collaroy Beach NSW 2097
FAQ Section:
1) What is the camp?
-- The Parent–Child Camp (formerly Father–Child Camp) brings together ~100 parents and children from Years 3–6 for a fun, activity-filled weekend. Expect a mix of outdoor adventures (e.g. hiking, kayaking, team activities) alongside relaxed time to connect with your child and other families in the school community.
2) Why are we booking this so far in advance?
-- Camps of this size book out quickly. To secure the venue and confirm activities, we need to lock in numbers by mid-July.
3) What do the cabins look like? Can you provide more information on the camp?
-- Cabin details, amenities, and photos are available here: https://www.collaroycentre.org.au/experiences/camps/
Cabins are comfortable, shared-style accommodation designed for school groups.
4) What about the Activities? Will there be a plan?
-- The camp includes a fully organized activity program run by The Collaroy Centre:
Children can participate in:
2 evening sessions (Friday & Saturday)
3 day sessions (Saturday morning & afternoon, Sunday morning)
Parents can participate in:
1 evening activity
2 daytime activities
A survey will be sent closer to the date to select preferred activities. A full list of available activities can be viewed here:
https://www.collaroycentre.org.au/activities/
Note: Kayaking is included; however, you will need to arrange your own transport to Narrabeen Lake.
5) Do I need to stay two nights or can I just stay 1 night (or zero nights - I need my own bed!)?
-- The Collaroy Centre requires a 2-night minimum booking, so the event fee covers both nights. However, you are welcome to: 1) Join from Saturday morning only, or 2) Sleep at home if you live nearby. If you choose not to stay overnight, your child must leave and return with you. Note that the price is a fixed package price so even if you don't stay both nights the price will be the same.
6) What is included in the price?
-- The fee includes:
1) Accommodation (2 nights)
2) All meals during the stay
3) Organized activities run by The Collaroy Centre
7) What are the sleeping arrangements?
-- Parents and children will stay together in shared cabins allocated by organizers. More details on cabin groupings will be provided closer to the date.
8) Who supervises the children?
-- Parents are responsible for supervising their own child throughout the camp. The Collaroy Centre staff will supervise all organized activities.
9) What if my child has dietary requirements or medical needs?
-- Dietary requirements and medical information will be collected prior to the camp to ensure all needs are catered for.
10) What should we bring?
-- A detailed packing list will be shared closer to the date.
11) Can siblings attend?
-- The camp is limited to students in Years 3–6 enrolled at the school.
12) What happens if it rains?
-- Activities will proceed with suitable adjustments. The Collaroy Centre is well-equipped to run both indoor and outdoor activities.
