• Creating structured onboarding approaches that support both new employees and existing workers throughout their first weeks and months in the industry
• Strengthening safety awareness, operational understanding and long term workforce engagement across foundry operations
• Helping employees better understand upstream and downstream foundry processes to improve communication, quality awareness and operational efficiency
• Introducing Microskills Academy and the role of non accredited microcredentials and microskills in supporting practical, flexible and targeted industry learning
• Discussing education and training opportunities available under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), including metallurgy and manufacturing related training options relevant to the industry
• Exploring future industry needs, workforce challenges, technical capability gaps and areas where collaborative education and training initiatives may provide support moving forward
The session will also provide an open discussion opportunity for attendees to share feedback, ideas and areas of interest relevant to workforce capability development within the foundry and manufacturing sectors.
