Blue Mountains Writing Retreat

SoLA is hosting it's first-ever writing retreat! This is a perfect opportunity for anyone working on a larger project, such as a thesis or creative writing piece, to come and get productive.The writing retreat will take place over three days where we will pack in around 16 hours of productive time, including workshops, structured writing time, and feedback. Fill out the questions in the ticket link, and we will do our best to make this writing retreat suited to you - our amazing members!
We will be staying at the YHA Katoomba and visiting a range of spots across the Blue Mountains, including optional visits to popular tourist destinations such as the Three Sisters. We also have a ticket option if you would like to source your own accommodation.
Our draft itinerary includes:
Friday - Set off in the morning, briefing/introductions, explore Katoomba, approx. 4 facilitated productive hours including our first workshop, sunset at Lincoln's rock, and chill evening.
Saturday - Visit the Three Sisters, approx. 6 facilitated productive hours, a scenic lunch, dinner out in town.
Sunday - optional morning walk, approx. 6 facilitated productive hours including feedback workshop and reflection by the waterfall, then head home in the evening.
Along the way, we will enjoy many yummy treats and beautiful views of the Blue Mountains.
All of our workshops and productive time will be facilitated by Sarah Hoadley. Sarah is the Publication & Content Coordinator for SoLA, currently studying a double Bachelors in English & Writing/Business Innovation & Entrepreneurship. She has published across various literary magazines and multiple online forums, and is currently working on her debut novel. Her expertise has led her to offer editorial services to indie authors and has successfully secured her a Lighthouse Arts Writing Residency at the Newcastle Lighthouse.
