Calling all story tellers, book clubbers, and lovers of the written and spoken word!

Whether you’re a musician, podcaster, comedian, author or closet poet…or just someone passionate about shaking up the event landscape in our amazing EM river town…we’d love you to attend the official launch of Echuca-Moama’s newest event…Festival of Stories.

You're invited to join volunteer members of the Festival of Stories Inc. committee at a public meeting this Friday May 29 to learn more about the inagural Festival of Stories, which will be held over three days on the third week in October to celebrate creativity and culture in our community. 

The Festival of Stories will provide a platform to amplify local voices alongside some of Australia’s leading storytellers, artists, musicians, performers, thinkers and creatives.

More than an event, Festival of Stories is an investment in community connection, creativity, culture and regional identity. It is being built by people who care deeply about this region – its people, its stories, its creativity and its future. This is a festival being shaped by our community, for our community. With the right support, Festival of Stories has the potential to grow into a signature regional event that attracts visitors from across the country, strengthens local business, creates opportunities for creatives and young people, and brings people together through shared experiences and storytelling.

Over the past month, a passionate group of local people has worked hard to bring together early support from government, business, tourism, arts and community partners, to help establish the foundations for the festival.

We are now inviting the wider community to join us on this exciting journey to bring this legacy project to life through our official Volunteer Support Program and our official ‘’Friends’’ of the Festival of Stories''.

Both platforms will enable individuals, families, businesses and community supporters to help shape the future of this event from the very beginning.

We can not wait to share more details with you all, including unveiling the official festival program line up!
