The 2027 Support for Support Staff series covers 2 key topics: issue resolution with colleagues, uplines and clients focussing on the management of conflict and how to resolve complaints; and a 2-part session on the basics of the sale of a business which covers the key steps as well as tips for relevance to day to day processes during such a transaction.

Issue Resolution: Management of Conflict and How to Resolve Complaints

This professional development session (1 hour) will cover a number of topics including, for example:
- Understanding conflict and complaints in legal practice - recognising common sources of conflict; the impact of poor conflict management; the role of support staff
- Practical communication and de-escalation strategies - effective communication techniques; de-escalating difficult situations; professional boundaries
- Complaint handling and resolution processes - understanding complaint pathways; managing complaints effectively; learning from complaints

This is a two-part professional development session (1 hour per session) that will cover a number of topics including, for example:
- An introduction to bsuiness sales
- The pre-contract stage
- Preparing the contract package
- Understanding the transaction through to settlement
- Employment, lease and regulatory considerations
- Common problems and risk areas

Venue Access: Please note that as the Society's building at 28 Murray Street, Hobart was built in 1876 there is no lift or disability access to the downstairs training area. The Society's building at 56 Charles Street, Launceston was built in 1860 and there is no lift or disability access to the upstairs rooms.
