Mayoral Launch of the new Wind Phone, Whispers to the Wind.
About
Join us for the Mayoral opening of Camden’s Wind Phone, the first of its kind in NSW. Set within the peaceful surrounds of Camden Town Farm, this meaningful new public artwork offers a place for reflection, remembrance and quiet connection.Originating in Japan, wind phones are unconnected telephones that allow people to “speak” to loved ones who have passed, carried only by the wind, providing comfort, healing and a sense of ongoing connection.
Located along the Nepean River Trail, the Wind Phone invites visitors to pause, remember loved ones, and experience a space designed for comfort, healing and peace. Thoughtfully created using reclaimed local materials and featuring artwork by Macarthur artist Quinton Laws, the installation brings together storytelling, sustainability and community connection.
Enjoy light refreshments and a relaxed opportunity to experience this meaningful new space for connection and remembrance.
