Join us for a captivating journey through the elegance & history of the Nyonya Sarong Kebaya in a special presentation & exhibition with Baba Cedric Tan.
Drawing from his personal collection of exquisite kebayas, this showcase explores the artistry, heritage, and stories woven into one of the Peranakan community’s most treasured traditions.
Also presenting is Nyonya Margaret De Silva, who will share highlights from her own sarong collection.

ABOUT CEDRIC TAN
Baba Cedric Tan is a sixth-generation Melakan Baba, cultural advocate, performer, and the current President of the Melaka Peranakan Arts and Culture Fellowship Association (SEDARA). Widely recognised for his work in preserving and promoting Baba Nyonya culture, he has performed internationally in music, theatre, and cultural showcases, including singing Dondang Sayang at the Opening Ceremony of the 2017 SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur.
Cedric has also served as a cultural consultant for major heritage projects and exhibitions, contributed extensively to publications and media on Peranakan culture, and regularly presents talks, demonstrations, and exhibitions around the world. He currently serves as a consultant to Malaysia’s Jabatan Warisan Negara for the UNESCO inscription of the Kebaya as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
