Come celebrate the anniversary (and a bit) of the debut EP, Demo(lition), by the alt/indie rock band Good Lightning, with special guests Ducks in Trees and Leila! In their first headlining show, the lads are back with some old and new material and are excited as usual to share with you all. If you haven’t had a chance to see Good Lightning, this will be their grandest and greatest mustn’t-be-missed show yet!Good Lightning started as the music project of Grady Emerson. With the want to play a one off show for his then-upcoming EP, Demo(lition), he got guitarist, Kieran Brown, and drummer, Max Ringland, on board. As Time went on, however, the guys found themselves at some point just becoming a band with a lot more to share than just a one off show. With a love of many different genres, the lads write songs in a mishmash of styles but mostly rooted in an alt/indie sound. Even though the one off show never came to pass, the fellas have been playing around Canberra ever since and are working on becoming a staple of the Canberra music scene.
Emerging from the nation's capital - Leila is a country/pop singer-songwriter, with a unique tone & honest, raw storytelling that has proven to leave audiences craving more. Leila has set the scene for her music journey, opening for artists such as Bella Mackenzie (AU), The Eurogliders (AU) , Killing Heidi's Ella Hooper (AU), Fatai (AU) , Emma Pask (AU), Nathan Cavaleri (AU) and Mack and Cook (AU) (Murray Cook The OG Wiggles). Performing in front of thousands, this emerging talent has captivated audiences around ACT, NSW, VIC & QLD. Leila brings authenticity, undeniable vocals, hooky melodies, fresh songwriting and most of all, heart. This young talent is definitely one to watch, bringing something fresh and exciting to the music landscape.
Ducks In Trees is Folk Music brainchild of American CJ Adams, brought to life with friends Bevan and Macca, adding tantalizing acoustic guitar, punchy Banjo, and amazing vocals, to heart-on-their-sleaves songs about sanity, love, distance, and lost dreams. The sound of Ducks In Trees bounces between the folk revival scene of the 1970s and 2000s Ho Hey folk rock, with musical guests often swelling the ranks to shake things up. Ducks In Trees plays all about Canberra and is looking forward to bringing their unique sound to you.
