Replacing Plastic With Purpose - Spoon Carving Workshop
About
In this intimate day workshop, led by Lexie Farrell, you’ll learn how to carve your very own wooden cooking spoon from start to finish. My home workshop in Flaxton hosts only four participants at a time. This small group setting ensures you receive personalised guidance throughout the carving process. You'll work at your own pace with plenty of one-on-one support as needed.
Perfect for beginners, with no experience necessary, you’ll learn safe carving techniques, how to use a range of hand tools, grain direction, shaping, finishing, and the creative process behind transforming a simple piece of timber into something both beautiful and practical.
In this workshop, we're replacing plastic with purpose. You'll carve your own wooden cooking spoon - a functional tool that carries the energy of intentional creation. Every time you use it, you're choosing conscious craftsmanship over mass production and natural materials over toxic plastic waste.
When you carve a spoon with your own hands, it becomes more than a utensil. It holds the memory of its creation and carries your intention into your daily cooking. This isn't just about making a spoon - it's about bringing consciousness to the tools that touch your food and feed your family.
All tools and materials are provided.
Participants must be 18 years or older. Please bring something to eat, water and wear comfortable clothes suitable for workshop conditions.
I will share the full address and further details with participants via email the week of the workshop, so please keep an eye on your inbox (and junk mail if needed). Tickets are non-refundable.
