The Shuffle Club "Swingin’ Spring Ball"
About
The Shuffle Club is taking over MEMO Music Hall with a Spring Ball built entirely around the joy of good tunes and fun times. Since 1999, this four piece has been Melbourne’s best good time bands, one relentlessly commitment to making you dance. They’ve toured Europe, Asia and Central America, lit up Spiegeltents around the world. And tonight, they’re bringing company.
Very Special Guests
George Washingmachine — jazz violin & vocals There is nobody quite like him. Part Django, part original force of nature, George’s violin playing swings hard, sings loud and lands squarely in the body before your conscious mind has time to object. He’s played across Australia and beyond, and every time he picks up the bow, the dance floor responds.
Steve Sedergreen — piano Melbourne jazz piano royalty. A VCA graduate, festival favourite and educator who has shaped a generation of players, Steve has been one of Australia’s most admired improvisers since the 1980s. His piano swings like a screen door in a hurricane — lyrical, explosive, unmistakable.
The Night
This is the evening for Lindy hoppers, Balboa dancers, solo jazz shufflers and anyone who loves a vintage party tune played by people who actually mean it. A dance floor built for movement. A band built for joy. A room built for the kind of night you talk about for weeks.
Dress vintage. Dance hard. Come early. The floor won’t fill itself.
