Hosted by the Melbourne Scottish Fiddle Club in partnership with the National Celtic Folk Festival
Scottish Music Workshop with specials guest from Scotland
About
7-9:30 on Thursday 11 June (including a tea and cake break)
Church of All Nations | Palmerston St, Carlton
This workshop is for singers, fiddlers, cellists, harpists, piano players, and other rhythm section instruments (e.g upright bass/guitar).
We will be working with world-class guest musicians from Scotland to learn and arrange a song in gaidhlig (Scottish Gaelic).
Charlie Stewart - Fiddle
Mischa MacPherson - Gaidhlig song and vocals
Rebecca Hill - Harp, accompaniment, rhythm and arrangement
Alistair Iain Paterson - Piano, accompaniment, rhythm and arrangement
Charlie, Mischa, Becky and Alistair will lead the whole group as an ensemble, as well as in “sectionals” when we separate to work in smaller groups to work on our parts.
This is the first time we’ve done a workshop like this, and it will be a very special thing to take part in.
