About Steve Wooster
With over 30 years of experience on the bass, Steve brings serious groove, funky slap lines, and soul-filled playing to every stage he steps on. Having performed extensively throughout Newcastle, Sydney, and beyond, he has developed a reputation as a versatile and dynamic musician who knows how to make a band feel great.
This clinic isn't about playing the most notes—it's about playing the right notes. Steve will explore the art of groove, pocket, feel, creativity, and musical communication, sharing practical concepts that help musicians become more confident, musical, and in-demand performers. Whether you're a beginner looking to improve your timing or an experienced player wanting to deepen your groove and improvisational skills, there will be something valuable to take away.
Drawing inspiration from legendary bassists including Marcus Miller, Rocco Prestia, Flea, Victor Wooten, Tim Commerford, Les Claypool, and Henrik Linder, Steve blends funk, soul, rock, fusion, and modern bass styles into an energetic and inspiring session.
Expect plenty of demonstrations, practical playing examples, discussion about tone and technique, and insights into what it takes to support a band while still developing your own musical voice. Most importantly, expect to have fun, connect with other musicians, and discover new ways to lock in the groove and make every note count.
About Adam Morris
With nearly 40 years behind the kit and more than three decades as a working professional, it's safe to say there isn't much Adam hasn't seen or done in the music industry.
As a sought-after touring and session drummer/percussionist, he has spent 30 years backing hundreds of artists across countless live performances and studio recordings, including a decade-long stint with Australian music icon Marcia Hines. Along the way, he's appeared in numerous television performances and music videos and spent ten years as a key member of the team at The Drum Shop in Newcastle.
But Adam's passion for rhythm extends far beyond the drum kit. For more than 20 years, he's also worked as a professional DJ, filling dance floors everywhere from local venues to clubs throughout the UK, New Zealand, and Asia.
What truly sets Adam apart is his unique 360-degree perspective on the music business. Beyond performing, he has worked extensively in artist development, marketing, management, and booking agencies, giving him invaluable insight into how successful careers are built behind the scenes.
Today, he channels that experience into full-time content creation with ReDriven on YouTube, where he has developed a deep understanding of audience engagement, branding, and digital marketing. This real-world experience provides a fascinating perspective on how musicians can promote themselves, build an audience, and create opportunities in today's social media-driven landscape.
