RMUYC's production of The Wizard of Oz
The Rockhampton Musical Union Youth Choir is holding auditions for children (aged 8 to 18) to be part of this fantastic production to be performed at the Pilbeam Theatre from 30th October - 1st November 2026. Auditions to be held Tuesday 23rd, Thursday 25th & Friday 26th June at the RMU Hall.

The booklet contains lots of IMPORTANT information including dates, draft rehearsal schedules, expectations, cost, audition information which you need to read BEFORE booking an audition.
Characters include: Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tinman, Cowardly Lion, Hank, Hickory, Zeke, Glinda, Aunt Em, Wicked Witch of the West, Miss Gulch, The Wizard of Oz, Professor Marvel, Uncle Henry plus many supporting roles and ensemble cast including Munchkins, Ozians, Jitterbugs, Poppies, Monkeys...
Age: Please note that members must be 8 years old by 31st January 2026 to audition for this show.
Individual/Lead Audition: Please book a 5-minute time slot. Please prepare a song (verse & a chorus only) from a musical for your audition (it doesn’t have to be from The Wizard of Oz but please do not sing a pop song). Please bring your own device if you wish to use a backing track. Information on the lead roles in the show is included at the end of this booklet. If you wish to audition for a lead role, you must book an individual audition. You must complete the Google Form with audition information/experience AFTER you have booked your audition. Group Chorus Audition: If you would like to audition for the chorus, please book a ticket to the group audition from 6:30pm to 7:15pm on Tuesday 23rd June. There is no requirement to learn anything prior to attending. You must complete the Google Form with audition information/experience after you have booked your audition. Call Backs: If required, call backs will be held on Friday 26th June in the early evening. The Production Team will make contact with individual people if they are required.
Audition Location: Rockhampton Musical Union Hall - 158 Denison Street, Rockhampton, QLD. Please arrive 10mins early for your audition.
