Ula&HerBrothers: Textile Block Printing Workshop
About
Join us for a hands-on textile block printing workshop for kids, sharing an afternoon of creativity, culture and storytelling - in conjunction with 4A's 'High Tides: Yuki Kihara and Morgan Hogg’ exhibition.Led by Ula&HerBrothers (Noelle Moa), this workshop draws on the rich visual traditions of the Pacific and explores the patterns, symbols and storytelling practices of tapa, the ancient artform of decorated barkcloth.
🌊 Through an introduction to Pasifika art and culture, children will discover how traditional motifs have been used for generations.
🧵 Participants will design and print their own Pacific tapa-inspired patterns onto a custom T-shirt to take home.
👕 All supplies will be provided. Spaces are limited to 13 participants. Parents or guardians are required to remain on site throughout the workshop.
Come and create, print and explore Pacific storytelling through art!
