North and Elsewhere debut album launch
About
Hazel and Roanna Law (North and Elsewhere) were raised on folk music and family harmonies in the heart of the Sunshine Coast, performing from a young age with their family band. When you're born into folk music, it stays with you. Now based in NSW/ACT they are carrying on the folk storytelling tradition. In 2025 the sisters were finalists in the Australian Folk Music Awards and Grand Finalists in the ListenUp music 'Songwriting Prize'. Their songs reflect nature, childhood and connection; exploring what it means to be human amidst the often uncomfortable realities of a changing world.
This year will see the release of their debut album 'Safe Harbour', an ode to strength, travel, healing and childhood. It is a warm place to rest amidst the noise. Hazel and Roanna will be returning to the Sunshine Coast to launch the album at the Blackbox Theatre on the 12th of July. The concert will be opened by special guest Sam Hodgkins, a regular at Namba Folk Club. Doors open at 3.30pm for a 4pm start. There will be all the usual Sunday Folk goodness including a bar, tea, coffee, cakes and kindness.
