Ustadha Zainab is the gift that just keeps on giving!In addition to her Tafseer and Seerah classes, Ustadha Zainab has generously offered our community the opportunity to obtain an ijazah in the 40 Hadith of Imam al-Nawawi.
This is a rare opportunity to connect ourselves to a beautiful chain of transmission stretching back through generations of scholars to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Those who are able to read the Arabic text will be eligible to receive an ijazah for both reading and listening, while those who attend and listen will receive an ijazah in listening.
Imam al-Nawawi (631–676 AH) was one of the greatest scholars of Islam, renowned for his piety, sincerity, and immense contributions to the preservation and teaching of sacred knowledge. His collection of 40 Hadith is among the most widely studied works in the Muslim world. Although commonly known as the "40 Hadith," the collection actually contains 42 narrations that beautifully summarise the foundations of Islam, covering topics such as sincerity, worship, character, lawful and unlawful matters, repentance, brotherhood, and reliance upon Allah.
Many scholars have described these hadith as containing the core principles upon which the religion is built, making them an essential study for every Muslim.
