Imam al-Nawawi (631–676 AH) was one of the greatest scholars of Islam, renowned for his piety, sincerity, and immense contributions to the preservation and teaching of sacred knowledge. His collection of 40 Hadith is among the most widely studied works in the Muslim world. Although commonly known as the "40 Hadith," the collection actually contains 42 narrations that beautifully summarise the foundations of Islam, covering topics such as sincerity, worship, character, lawful and unlawful matters, repentance, brotherhood, and reliance upon Allah.
Many scholars have described these hadith as containing the core principles upon which the religion is built, making them an essential study for every Muslim.
