Why not arrive an hour or two early and explore the precinct for yourself. Weโll see you at the Meeting Point at 1.50pm ...donโt be late!
This is a fantastic loop through a rare and diverse pocket of the Berowra Valley National Park. One moment you are walking beneath the towering canopy of a Blue Gum High Forest, and the next you are navigating sandstone ridgetops or wandering through a tranquil, green corridor of ferns.
The trail is well-loved for its variety. You'll wind your way past The Fishponds, a large waterhole on Berowra Creek, which is perfect for a scenic break (though swimming isn't recommended due to the water quality). Keep an eye out for the Washtub on Waitara Creek, where the water has sculpted unique pools into the rock. The birdlife here is exceptional; you might be lucky enough to spot a lyrebird scratching in the leaf litter or hear the laugh of a kookaburra.
While this is a family-friendly loop, it's not without its challenges. Expect a true bushwalking experience with some steep sections, over 300 steps in parts, and rocky terrain that requires a bit of scrambling. It's manageable for most, but you'll want to be ready for a bit of a workout.
Why not join together for dinner afterwards?
The venue weโre suggesting is: The Courtyard - Hornsby RSL Club, just across from Hornsby Train Station.
We will need to book in advance for 5.15pm - so be sure to let us know :)
