Dad's Talk 2026, with David "The Ox" Schwartz
About
THE Gippsland Grammar Foundation is inviting fathers and father figures to a morning of connection, conversation and inspiration when former AFL star David "The Ox" Schwarz headlines this year's Dad's Talk breakfast. Now in its second year, the Father's Day-inspired event will be held on Friday August 7 at Gippsland Grammar's Garnsey Campus in Sale.
A Melbourne Football Club Hall of Fame inductee, AFL media personality and recovered gambling addict, Schwarz will share his powerful personal story, reflecting on his football career, the impact of gambling addiction and the importance of speaking openly about challenges that affect men and families.
Hosted by the Gippsland Grammar Foundation, Dad's Talk is designed to bring the men of the School Community together in an approachable and enriching environment, while creating opportunities to strengthen professional and social connections before the workday begins.
Schwarz's story comes at a time when concerns about gambling harm and its growing impact on young Australians are receiving national attention.
Recent research suggests more than 900,000 Australians aged 12-19 gambled in the past year, while Australians continue to lose more money to gambling per person than any other nation in the world.
Foundation President Jessica Cane said the event builds on the success of last year's inaugural Dad's Talk and continues an important conversation around men's wellbeing.
Jessica says......................
Guests will enjoy a cooked breakfast and coffee while hearing from one of Australian football's most recognisable personalities.
