Wingara Student Leadership Event: dhurali warunggad.
About
Independent Schools NSW is proud to invite you to the 2026 Wingara Student Leadership Event: dhurali warunggad.Join us for a day of Cultural engagement, leadership development and post-school pathway planning for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students in Years 9 – 12. Each year this event provides a range of opportunities for students to engage in leadership and cultural workshops where students connect and celebrate Culture as an important aspect of wellbeing, developing a sense of belonging, educational success, and resilience.
Students are supported by their supervising teacher/s who will walk alongside students throughout the day, taking the learning from the day back to school to continue conversations and learnings.
Please note – there is a registration fee of $50 per student , with the majority of event expenses generously supported by Western Sydney University and the Australian Independent Schools Foundation (AISF).
To enable as many schools as possible to attend, schools are invited to nominate 5 students and up to 2 accompanying staff members to attend. Attendance is required for the event in full, to enable full engagement and impact.
Regional travel subsidies will be available for schools travelling in from outside Sydney and Central Coast.
