SANGEET MISHRA (SARANGI):
Sangeet Mishra is an eighth-generation sarangi maestro of the legendary Banaras Gharana. Born into one of India’s most esteemed musical lineages, he received his initial training from his grandfather, Pt. Narayan Das Mishra, and was further guided by Pt. Bhagwan Das Mishra and Pt. Santosh Kumar Mishra.

Renowned for reviving the expressive gayaki ang (vocal style) of sarangi playing, Sangeet combines profound traditional mastery with a contemporary musical sensibility. He has performed extensively across India and around the world, earning acclaim for his ability to preserve the purity of classical music while embracing innovative collaborations.

Firmly rooted in Shastriya Sangeet, his work bridges tradition and modernity, bringing the rich heritage of the sarangi to diverse audiences.

Currently based in Mumbai, Sangeet maintains an active performance schedule, travelling throughout India and internationally. He is highly sought after for solo recitals, accompaniment for classical vocal and dance performances, contemporary Indian music projects, and collaborations within the global fusion music scene.
