Our next AIPI Victorian Breakfast Chapter meeting is on
Thursday 23 July 2026 - 7:45am to 9:15am
Topic: 'Privilege, Trust and Betrayal: An Inside Look at the Police Informants Royal Commission'
Join the AIPI Victorian Chapter for breakfast with Alexandra Tighe of Clayton Utz as she takes us behind the headlines of one of Victoria’s most extraordinary legal scandals. When it emerged that a defence barrister had been working as a registered police informer while representing the very clients she was meant to protect, the fallout reached the highest levels of Victoria Police and the courts, putting convictions, legal professional privilege and public confidence in the justice system on the line. Alexandra offers a rare insider’s perspective on the Royal Commission into the Management of Police Informants: what it uncovered, why it mattered, and the lasting lessons for the profession
