Apple Tree Pruning Workshop - TNG Members only
About
Apple Tree Pruning Workshop - Modern pruning practice with Graham ClarkJoin us for a hands-on workshop focused on modern apple tree pruning, guided by retired orchardist Graham Clark. Graham will demonstrate and discuss current best-practice pruning techniques on the garden's apple trees - the same approach that transformed the apple trees at Kingston Community Garden, reducing disease and significantly boosting production.
The workshop will cover pruning several trees in depth, with time to observe, ask questions, and discuss any issues with other trees in the garden. Graham is happy to take general fruit tree questions, though the focus will remain on the apples.
Please note, this event is for TNG Members only due the limited capacity of the workshop. We might be able to offer it again to more people at a later stage.
Weather note: this event is planned to go ahead even if it rains lightly and will only be postponed in the event of heavy rain.
About Graham
Graham Clark is a fifth-generation orchardist from Franklin with over 50 years of experience in apple and cherry growing. When he took over the family farm, he modernised its practices - switching to new varieties on dwarfing rootstocks and doubling tree density, increasing crop production more than fivefold. His father, a sceptic at first, couldn't argue with the results.
