Nick Haywood and Tim Stevens
The launch of a new album by iconic Melbourne jazz trio 'Browne Haywood Stevens' featuring the late Allan Browne on drums, Nick Haywood on double bass and Tim Stevens on piano.
Nick and Tim perform repertoire from the recordings in a duo format.
Over the past forty years Nick Haywood has become one of the most in demand bassists and educators on the Australian music scene. He has impressive performance and recording credits with both Australian and international artists. Nick has performed at major festivals and concerts in Australia, New Zealand, New Caledonia, Europe, China and the USA.
Tim Stevens is an improvising composer and piano player who specialises in original creative work. His performance credits are mostly in the trio and solo arenas. His trio with Dave Beck and Ben Robertson has released five CDs, and as a soloist he has made eight. In the 1990s he was a member of Browne – Haywood – Stevens, and that trio performed original music alongside standard tunes and jazz pieces. His standout work is probably with his double trio – piano, bass, drums, violin, viola, cello – on the original work with whom you can be who you are.
TICKETS $30 | $20
Online sales close at 7:30pm on the day of the concert. Tickets can be purchased at the door, dependent on availability. Tempo Rubato is a cashless venue.
